Invited before the media this Thursday, Luis Enrique was full of praise for his latest recruit, Désiré Doué.

The day after their victory in Le Havre (1-4) in the first match of the season, Paris Saint-Germain made official the arrival of Désiré Doué. Also in Bayern Munich’s sights, the versatile 19-year-old midfielder has finally chosen to continue his career with the French champions, who paid 60 million euros (bonuses included) to secure the services of the silver medalist at the Paris Olympics.

Passing through a press conference this Thursday, on the eve of hosting Montpellier, Luis Enrique was inevitably asked about the arrival of Désiré Doué. A transfer that delighted the Spanish coach, who was full of praise for the former Rennes player.

Luis Enrique: “I am very happy that he agreed to play with us”

“Adapting for a French player like Désiré is easier. There is no language barrier. He is from the country, he knows it. He is a versatile player, who can play in the centre and on the wings. He can play in a more defensive profile. He is very complete.”said Luis Enrique.

And to conclude: ” He will help us a lot and I am very happy that he agreed to play with us.” Already physically fit, Désiré Doué, who took part in all the training sessions with his new club this week, could make his debut in the Ile-de-France colours this Friday evening.
