A former member of Luis Enrique at FC Barcelona made very critical comments about him.

Many footballers say good things about the methods of Luis Enrique, the PSG coach. But there are also some who do not have very good memories of their collaboration with him. This is the case, for example, of Jérémy Mathieu, his ex protégé in Barcelona.

“Luis Enrique, a coach who does not communicate”

The former French defender was questioned about his relationship with the Catalan technician. He was not complimentary. He told Bein Sports: “We will say that our experience was quite mixed. He was the one who wanted me and we met in secret to agree on signing. “He’s a coach who doesn’t talk to you a lot and doesn’t give you a lot of confidence.”

“I play a lot on confidence and, sometimes, I have played important matches, then I found myself on the bench. That’s what I didn’t understand. But he never explained to me why. Maybe he didn’t have time, I don’t know… continued the former Sochalien.

Mathieu then concluded by indicating : “Maybe he works like that. Me, I do not know. He’s like that. A problem in Paris? Maybe. Did he change his way of being and doing things afterward? I don’t know. It was like that for us at Barça and in the end I had a bad time.”
