Luka Modric will leave Real Madrid when his contract expires at the end of the 2023/24 season.

Modric opted to continue his policy of a one-year contract extension at the start of the current campaign, but this will change in 2023/24, when his contract expires. The Croatian veteran says he is angered by his lack of playing time in recent months and conflicting reports over his relationship with Carlo Ancelotti.

Ancelotti has always praised Modric’s professionalism in his handling of the situation and his impact when called upon. However, despite turning 38 in September, Modric is ready to play until he is 40, with summer offers from the Saudi Pro League and MLS.

A bold attempt

These two clubs would represent a significant financial offer, but according to information from Croatian media 24 Sata, the president of Dinamo Zagreb, Mirko Barisic, offered him to return to his original club.

Modric’s road to the top of world football began with Dinamo Zagreb, before he joined Tottenham in 2008, and he is considering that option. Barisic’s bold attempt will be reviewed by Modric and any decision could be delayed until he leads Croatia to Euro 2024.
