Luke Bryan opened up about how Carrie Underwood is doing with her first season of judging American Idol. The 41-year-old “Before He Cheats” hitmaker is no stranger to the show since she was won its fourth season way back in 2005. However, she’s experiencing a different side of it since taking over for Katy Perry as a judge in the forthcoming 23rd season. During a recent interview, Luke revealed one component that Carrie was struggling with. Keep reading to find out more… Speaking to E! News, Luke said that Carrie has a hard time with turning contestants down. “When she has to say ‘No’ she’s like, ‘I don’t wanna tell them no,’” he explained. “But it’s kind of a part [of the job]. It’s hard when you got a kid that’s young and they haven’t found who they are musically.” The country music star added that she is learning on the fly and doing well. That was particularly the case with young contestants. “You kind of have to learn how to be a judge. It’s not like you can go to American Idol judging school,” he joked, adding that she “has the best soul and heart.” His final pronouncement on the matter? “She’s doing a great job and really settling into the judging table,” Luke said.
