We know a little more about the reason which pushed Pierre Sage to do without Said Benrahma completely last weekend.

OL were beaten by OM last Sunday during the clash of the 5e Ligue 1 matchday. A match of great importance and in which Said Benrahma did not participate. The Algerian international was not even in the group called up for this match.

So why did Pierre Sage choose to do without the former Nice player? Firstly because he couldn’t keep everyone. His professional squad has 28 players, including many attackers. He was therefore forced to make choices and the Fennec had to pay the price.

“Benrahma has other distractions”

That being said, this is not the only reason why Benrahma had to watch the match from home. It turns out that he is not in the best athletic condition at the moment. He has even been seriously out of shape recently. It was Walid Acherchour, a journalist from RMC Sport, who revealed this information: “ He arrived with a lot of extra kilos in pre-season. I’m not surprised. Today, we don’t have the impression that football is his priority. Benrahma, when things are going well, they are doing very well. But when things are not going well, he can have other distractions.”

A worrying picture concerning Benrahma. The former West Ham midfielder must quickly question himself, if he wants to regain favor with his coach. As a reminder, last season, after his arrival during the winter transfer window, he was used very often. He played 12 matches, including 10 as a starter. He scored 3 goals and provided 3 assists.
