Lyra Valkyria misses being in NXT, but is thrilled with what’s happening in the WWE’s developmental brand.
The former NXT Women’s Champion spent two years in NXT, after jumping from the NXT UK brand in 2022. She went on to win the top title in the promotion, before being called up to Raw following WrestleMania 40.
While she now feels at home on the main roster, the Irish star still misses appearing for Shawn Michaels’ promotion on a weekly basis.
Lyra Valkyria spoke with Denice Salcedo on YouTube and was asked about her thoughts on NXT’s current product. She was thrilled with Kelani’s progress on the developmental
“What a time to be in NXT right now!” Lyra Valkyria said. “Everyone who’s still there is doing amazing, especially my girl, Kelani. With the introduction of the new title, I’m thrilled to see everything that’s happening.
“I do miss being there, but I’m so happy with everything I’m doing right now. The reaction when I went back to save my friend was incredible. I’m excited to be getting back in the ring with her and working alongside her again. I absolutely love it!”
Lyra Valkyria On The Advice John Cena Gave To Her
John Cena gave Lyra Valkyria some good advice when he held a talk with NXT talent.
She spoke with Steve Fall for Ten Count Media about asking John Cena for advice during a talk in NXT.
Valkyria revealed how she clumsily asked Cena if the “It Factor” is something that could be learned. He replied that he thought that it could.
“It’s insane. I did get the chance to speak to him.” Lyra Valkyria said. “He spoke to the room when we were in NXT, and I asked him a question. I didn’t word it very well at the time, but I remember him understanding exactly what I meant. He said, ‘Oh, you’re asking me if ‘It’ is learnable?’ And he said, ‘Yes, I think it is.’ In terms of the entertainment factor, the star power—who better to ask that question than John Cena?
“I’ve always found him very inspiring and motivational. So, yeah, getting to speak to him was amazing. I think it’s very sad that he’s in his last year, but I’m really excited to see who will get his last match.”
