EXCLUSIVE: Macro Television Studios is bolstering its executive ranks, naming Jordanna Guarino SVP, Scripted Television and Jean Shi SVP, Unscripted Television.
Guarino joins Macro from Blumhouse Television where she served as Senior Vice President of Development & Programming. While there, she managed creative for scripted series and streaming movies. She served as a co-executive producer on Amazon’s The Horror of Dolores Roach, Hulu’s Into the Dark and a slate of eight movies for MGM+. She was also the creative executive on Season 2 of Facebook Watch’s Sacred Lies. Prior to Blumhouse, she served as Director of Original Programming at Marvel Television where she was a co-producer on the second season of The Gifted for Fox. She also helped oversee the final seasons of Marvel’s Daredevil for Netflix and Legion for FX.
Previously, Guarino worked at Universal Content Productions where she developed Syfy’s Channel Zero. She has also worked at USA Network and ABC Network and began her career as an agent trainee at ICM Partners.
Formerly SVP of Unscripted Development & Programming at Fremantle North America, Shi developed, sold and produced projects with networks and streaming platforms including original concepts—E!’s Relatively Famous, Hulu’s Wayne Brady: The Family Remix and HBO Max’s About Last Night; as well as contributed to the development of international formats and legacy IP series including Fox’s Game of Talents, NBC’s Password and ABC’s Press Your Luck. She previously served as Vice President of Development & Programming at NBCUniversal’s Oxygen Media where she oversaw both lifestyle and crime formats including Douglas Family Gold, Strut, Battle of the Ex-Besties, The Jury Speaks and The Disappearance of Natalie Holloway.
Shi also spent three years as Vice President of Development at the Emmy-winning Intervention reality series producer GRB Studios where she sold and was an executive producer of multiple series including #Red Flag for CNN, Pregnant & Dating for WeTV, Sex Sent me to the ER for TLC and Fame in the Family for E!. Shi began her television career as an independent producer with credits on series across networks including Bravo, Discovery, Fox and A&E, among others.

Macro TV Studios next series, Government Cheese for Apple TV+, stars David Oyelowo and is in post-production. The studio also executive produced two critically-acclaimed scripted Netflix series — Raising Dion and Gentefied as well as docu-series Dear Mama: The Saga of Afeni and Tupac Shakur. The studio also executive produced The Next Black Millionaires docuseries for The Roku Channel.
