Madame Web is headed East. Sony said today that its stand-alone Spider-Man spinoff from Marvel will hit China on March 1, two weeks after its North American bow.
Dakota Johnson stars as Cassandra Webb, a paramedic in Manhattan who develops the power to see the future and realizes she can use that insight to change it. Forced to confront revelations about her past, she forges a relationship with three young women (Sydney Sweeney, Isabela Merced and Celeste O’Connor) who are bound for powerful destinies — if they all can survive a deadly present.

Tahar Rahim, Mike Epps, Emma Roberts and Adam Scott also star in director SJ Clarkson’s action thriller for Columbia Pictures. The screenplay is by Matt Sazama & Burk Sharpless and Claire Parker & Clarkson.
Madame Web will arrive in U.S. theaters on Valentine’s Day and is tracking for $25M over the six-day holiday weekend frame. Its key audience is the under-35 set, and it’s also looking solid with diverse audiences.
