Hunters in Taraba State had a fierce clash with kidnappers who abducted their Monarch earlier when they invaded their community.
The hunters successfully rescued the Monarch, Galadima Danladi Tau, the district head of Lau town in the Ardo-Kola local government area, from kidnappers who raided his palace on Saturday night. Despite sustaining injuries during the abduction, the traditional ruler was safely recovered by the vigilant hunters after a determined pursuit of the assailants.
In retaliation, the kidnappers later launched an attack on the town, but the hunters, aided by local vigilantes, fiercely repelled the assault in an intense confrontation that lasted for hours. Nuhu Tau, a resident of Lau, highlighted that the town and its environs had previously encountered bandit attacks, necessitating a robust response from the community.
The coordinated efforts of hunters and vigilantes effectively cleared the area of bandits, leading to enhanced security. Additionally, soldiers were deployed to bolster security measures and ensure lasting peace in the region. Confirming the incident, Taraba State police spokesman Usman Abdullahi assured that normalcy has been restored to the area.
