Manchester United are preparing to enter a new era. During the international break, the Portuguese coach of Sporting Lisbon Ruben Amorim will become the new coach of the Mancunian club until 2027.

The 39-year-old manager will aim to turn around the Red Devils and bring them back to the forefront nationally and in Europe.

To succeed in its mission, Amorim intends to impose its playing principles but also to strengthen the Mancunian squad in certain sectors of play. And the Portuguese would have targeted the offensive sector. Indeed, according to information from Manchester Evening Newsthe English club would be on the shelves of the Portuguese striker from Sporting Lisbon Viktor Gyokeres.

The Swedish striker is currently one of the most effective strikers on the Old Continent. Under contract until June 2028 with the Portuguese club, his market value currently reaches the sum of 70 million. It is not impossible that this will increase in the coming weeks. Note that the 26-year-old player has a release clause which amounts to 100 million euros.

If he leaves, he would obviously join his current coach Ruben Amorim in England. A strong argument for Mancunian management if interest were to intensify.

Current top scorer in C1

Viktor Gyokeres shines at the start of the 2024-2025 financial year. The Swedish international has found the net 23 times since the start of the season, including 5 goals in the Champions League, making him the current top scorer in the competition ahead of Harry Kane.
