According to reports, Manchester United have given up on Antony and are getting ready to let the underwhelming winger go at the end of the season.

The Brazilian was one of Erik Ten Hag’s major summer acquisitions 18 months ago. He signed from Ajax for an estimated £86 million.

Since his move to Old Trafford, he has failed to make an impact and live up to the expectations of the fans. His career at United has been troubled with off the pitch controversies relating to his personal life.

The South American has been among United’s most disappointing acquisitions, scoring only nine goals in 69 appearances across all competitions.

His output has been shockingly bad considering the transfer fee that United paid for him. His team in the place has been taken by youngster Alejandro Garnacho who has grabbed the opportunity with both hands.

Ten Hag appears to have given up on his former star, according to a recent report from Fichajes.

The United manager has decided to let the 23-year old leave the club at the end of the season, that is how much he is annoyed with the Brazilian international.

There is no chance that United can avoid loss on the Antony deal, as he is expected to be sold for half the price that he joined for.

In order to provide the struggling Brazilian a way out of his Manchester nightmare, the club are compelled to drastically reduce their asking price to only £43 million (€50 million).

The Brazilian has been linked with a move to the Saudi Pro League in January and the Middle East could possibly be his next destination.
