Manchester United have been linked with a move for the Bayern Munich defenders Matthijs De Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui.

Both players are expected to leave the club this summer and Manchester United remain keen on signing them.

According to Florian Plettenberg, Bayern Munich are hoping to sell the two players and they remain in constant contact with Manchester United to find an agreement. It will be interesting to see if the two clubs can secure an agreement in the coming weeks.

De Ligt has shown his quality in the Bundesliga and he is certainly good enough for the Premier League as well. He could be the ideal replacement for Raphael Varane who left the club earlier this summer.

🛫🇰🇷 Matthijs de Ligt will not be on board today when FC Bayern departs for Seoul/South Korea at 4:30 PM. As reported, he is set to return to Bayern on August 2.

Noussair Mazraoui, on the other hand, is supposed to accompany the team on their trip.

Man United need to sign quality defenders

Manchester United need defensive reinforcements and it is no surprise that they are looking at the Dutch international defender. They conceded 58 goals in the league last season.

Meanwhile, Mazraoui will add quality and depth to the Manchester United defence as well. Aaron Wan-Bissaka is expected to leave the club permanently and Manchester United will need to replace him. Mazraoui has shown his quality with Bayern Munich and he will look to make his mark in the Premier League as well.

Both players would help Manchester United improve and push for trophies in the coming seasons.

The Red Devils managed to win the FA Cup last season but a club of their structure is expected to secure Champions League football regularly and push for major trophies. Signing the right players will help them improve and it remains to be seen whether Manchester United can get the deals done.

Manchester United certainly have the financial muscle to get the transfers across the line and they should look to wrap up their transfer business before the new season begins.
