Manchester United remain keen on signing Manuel Ugarte from Paris Saint-Germain this summer.

The 23-year-old midfielder has been linked with a move away from the French giants and the two clubs have been in touch regarding a summer move.

According to Fabrízio Romano, the Uruguayan international midfielder has interest from other clubs as well and Paris Saint-Germain are open to selling him for the right price.

The midfielder is not a key member of the PSG starting lineup and he is expected to be on the move this summer. The player is reportedly open to joining Manchester United, even though they have failed to secure Champions League qualification for the next season.

Manuel Ugarte could replace Casemiro

It will be interesting to see if Manchester United can get the deal done. They need a quality defensive midfielder who can shield the defensive unit and break up opposition attacks. The 23-year-old seems like the ideal fit for them. He could be the ideal long-term replacement for Casemiro, who has not been at his best over the last 12 months.

Improving the midfield unit should be top priority for Manchester United heading into the new season and a quality defensive midfielder could transform them. Ugarte has the physicality and technical attributes to do well in the Premier League and he could form a quality partnership with Kobbie MaInoo.

The PSG midfielder is regarded as a top class prospect and he is young enough to improve further. He could develop into a key player for Manchester United in the coming seasons. Regular football in England could accelerate his development and help him fulfil his tremendous potential..
