Liverpool take on Manchester United in the FA Cup quarter-finals later today and the Red Devils have been handed a major injury blow.
According to a report from the Mirror, Brazilian international midfielder Casemiro has picked up an injury and he has been replaced in the Brazil squad for the upcoming international break.
It is fair to assume that the player will now miss out on the clash against Liverpool as well. Scott McTominay could come in as his replacement and start alongside Kobbie Mainoo.
Manchester United could have used the 32-year-old’s experience and leadership qualities against Liverpool. He is exceptional when it comes to shielding the back four and breaking up opposition attacks.
It has been a disappointing season for Manchester United so far and the FA Cup is their best opportunity to win a trophy. The absence of Casemiro could prove to be defining against Liverpool who are in impressive form right now. They have already won the Carabao Cup earlier this season and they will want to win another domestic trophy.

Mason Mount to return for Man United
The visitors will be determined to produce a quality performance against their arch-rivals and it remains to be seen whether Manchester United can step up and deliver a positive result here.
Meanwhile, Manchester United will be happy with the return of Mason Mount who is back in training and is expected to play part in the game. The Red Devils will be without central defender Lisandro Martinez, who is expected to return after the international break.
The likes of Rasmus Hojlund, Harry Maguire and Aaron Wan-Bissaka have also returned to training and they are expected to feature against Liverpool.
