Manchester United remain keen on signing Chris Rigg from Sunderland and the scouts are urging the club hierarchy to get the deal done.

The Red Devils believe that he could be the next big thing in English football, and they do not want to miss out on him. They have learnt their lesson with Jude Bellingham and they want to act quickly and get a deal done for Rigg now.

Manchester United were very keen on signing Bellingham when he left Birmingham City in 2020, but they failed to convince him to join the club. They are not keen on repeating the same mistake.

Chris Rigg is highly rated in English football and he has a bright future ahead of himself. He could develop into a top class player for Manchester United and a report from HITC claims that the club feel he could be their next Bryan Robson or Roy Keane.

Manchester United are now considering a move for the player in the coming months and a deal could be agreed in January. However, the teenager is expected to stay with Sunderland until the end of the season and then join up with the Red Devils next summer.

Arsenal and Liverpool want Chris Rigg as well

Meanwhile, Manchester United are not the only club keen on securing his services and they will face competition from Arsenal and Liverpool as well. Both English clubs are keen on signing Rigg and it remains to be seen whether they decide to come forward with an offer to sign him.

Arsenal and Liverpool need more quality and depth in the middle of the park as well and the 17-year-old would be a long-term investment. If he manages to fulfil his potential with them, he could end up saving millions for them in the transfer market.
