Lille central defender Leny Yoro is being scouted by both Manchester United and Chelsea, according to HITC.
The French player was in action for Lille against Le Havre at the weekend, a match which his side won 3-0.
The defender was impressive in his role as a right sided centre-back, in front of scouts from both Manchester United and Chelsea watching him at the Stade Pierre-Mauroy, as reported by HITC.
Since Chelsea and United had both previously observed the Canada international striker, Jonathan David, 24, scored all three of Lille’s goals in the encounter. The scouts from the Premier League clubs would have been impressed by his goal scoring ability, as both clubs are interested in signing a striker this summer.
The French club’s youth system produced the France Under-21 international centre-back, who is currently a member of the first team squad.
This season, the youngster has made 20 starts and one substitute appearance for Lille in Ligue 1. In those contests, he has netted two goals.
United are targeting to strengthen a number of positions in the summer. A striker, midfielder and defender are all expected to arrive at Old Trafford in a busy summer. Manager Erik ten Hag and the club’s sporting director, who is yet to be appointed, are expected to oversee a shake up of the squad.
Under club’s new hierarchy after Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s 25% takeover of the club, United are ready to go big in the summer transfer window as they aim to close the gap on Manchester City, Liverpool and Arsenal.
ten Hag’s team moved closer to the Champions League places after a 2-1 win against Luton on Sunday. The Red Devils are now five points behind fourth placed Aston Villa.
