Manchester United attacker Marcus Rashford is taking a break from social media in order to “reset” his mindset in preparation for the next season.

The Man United forward made his choice known via a post on X, formerly Twitter.

Rashford played 74 minutes of Man United’s victory over bitter rivals Manchester City on Saturday at Wembley, where they also won the FA Cup.

For the Red Devils, the forward has had a terrible season, managing just eight goals in all competitions.

Rashford’s dismal performance also led England manager Gareth Southgate to decide against including him in his team for Euro 2024.

The England international has faced severe criticism from fans on social media after a disappointing campaign.

Rashford’s season at Man United was not helped by his off the pitch controversies.

He wrote: “It’s time to come off Socials for a few weeks.

“I plan to rest and reset mentally after a challenging season individually and collectively.

“Thanks to the fans that stood by me through a difficult period.

“To the ones that didn’t just remember at United, we always stick together.”

It remains to be seen if he will be Old Trafford next season or not.

After scoring 30 goals in 2022-23 season under Erik ten Hag, Rashford struggled last season but there is no doubt about his quality and talent.

Man United should keep the faith in one of their best players and give him confidence of making a strong come back next season.
