Man United are reportedly among the clubs interested in signing Timo Werner once his loan at Tottenham Hotspur comes to an end.

The German joined Ange Postecoglou’s Lilywhites in the January transfer window after being allowed to leave RB Leipzig to gain more first-team minutes.

And although the 28-year-old’s reputation in English football is not the best following a disappointing two years at Chelsea, Werner has done well playing on Spurs’ left wing.

After eight games, the Stugartt-born attacker has managed a goal or an assist every other game —decent numbers for a player who arrived back in London low on confidence.

Man United haven’t given up on Timo Werner

However, although Postecoglou may be happy with the German’s influence, according to a recent report from Sky Sports Germany (via Fichajes), there are no guarantees Spurs will try and sign him permanently at the end of the season, and that could open the door for another club to steal an advantage.

Timo Werner could stay in the Premier League next season, but may not play for Spurs.

Fulham and West Ham are among the sides linked, with both team’s interest dating back to the start of the year. They’re not alone though — Erik Ten Hag’s Red Devils are also in the mix, and, according to these latest reports, could look to offer the 28-year-old an escape from the Bundesliga and a permanent return to the Premier League.

Viewed as an experienced and versatile attacker, Werner, should he end up at Old Trafford, could become a valuable player to help ease the burdens on Marcus Rashford and Rasmus Hojlund.
