Manchester United are reportedly looking at Mauricio Pochettino as a potential replacement for Erik ten Hag.

The 52-year-old is currently without a job after leaving Chelsea at the end of the season and a report from TEAMtalk claims that Manchester United have initiated contact with the South American manager.

Manchester United has been in touch with Pochettino regarding the managerial role at Old Trafford and it will be interesting to see if they decide to part ways with Ten Hag and appoint the former Chelsea manager.

Chelsea decided to part ways with the 52-year-old amicably after an underwhelming campaign. However, Pochettino still managed to guide them to a sixth-placed finish, above Manchester United in the league table. He has been linked with the Manchester United job in the past as well and this is a golden opportunity for the Red Devils to appoint him.

Will Man United replace Erik Ten Hag with Mauricio Pochettino?

Meanwhile, Ten Hag has guided Manchester United to an FA Cup triumph with a victory over Manchester City in the final on Saturday. It will be interesting to see if that is enough to keep him in the job for another season. Initially, he was expected to be sacked at the end of the season, but the cup win has certainly given him an outside chance of holding on to his job.

The Manchester United hierarchy are still considering his position at the club and it remains to be seen how the situation develops. Pochettino has proven his quality in the Premier League with Tottenham Hotspur and Southampton in the past. Despite an underwhelming spell with Chelsea, he remains a quality manager who could prove to be a good addition for the Red Devils.

The opportunity to manage one of the biggest clubs in the world will be a tempting proposition for the Argentine as well.
