Manchester United are now looking to sign a new midfielder as they have already completed the signings of a new striker and a defender.

The Red Devils have signed Joshua Zirkzee and Leny Yoro this summer but now they want to strengthen their midfield and address the issues they faced last season.

They have shown interest in a number of midfielders including Manuel Ugarte from PSG, Sander Berge from Burnley and Monaco’s Youssouf Fofana.

However, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Fofana wants a move to Italian giants AC Milan.

The player is set to snub interest from Man United in order to complete a move to the Serie A club, either this summer or next summer.

The midfielder has entered the final year of his contract at the French club and he is considering a move to AC Milan, which could be delayed until next summer when he becomes a free agent.

Fofana has reportedly turned down a move to West Ham United this summer and he is considering doing the same to Man United.

Youssouf Fofana is ready to snub a move to Man United.

The Monaco midfielder is well known for his defensive ability and his talent of contributing to the team’s cause at both ends of the pitch.

A midfielder is someone Man United need desperately, particularly someone who can help defensively as Casemiro is past his peak and his performances and fitness issues last season caused the Red Devils a lot of trouble.

Man United are ready to bring more players to the club

Manager Erik ten Hag has the support of the club owners and they have backed him once again this summer by bringing him new players.

The Red Devils are set to complete deals for Bayern Munich duo Matthijs de Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui but after doing that, they are set to target a new midfield signing.

It remains to be seen who that midfielder will be but Casemiro, Scott McTominay and Christian Eriksen all face an uncertain future at Old Trafford and a new presence in the heart of the midfield is needed at the club.
