Manchester United are eager to recruit LOSC Lille striker Jonathan David.

The Red Devils have identified the Canadian international as a possible target in an effort to increase their offensive options, according to a report from ESPN via Fichajes.

David has the potential to perform in the Premier League and has been a vital member of Lille’s squad in the French league in recent years.

The 24-year-old has 13 goals and six assists across all competitions this season and he could prove to be a quality addition.

Along with Rasmus Hojlund, United need another striker at the club to share the goal-scoring load. The Ligue 1 player most definitely fits the bill, and if a strong offer is made, he may be persuaded to sign for the Red Devils.

David has been linked with a move to Chelsea in the past but a move has not been able to materlialise for him.

In order to contend for the biggest titles in the upcoming seasons, United must strengthen their squad. During the summer, they desperately need to make signing a talented striker a top priority.

Marcus Rashford and Rasmus Hojlund have struggled for goals this season. The English striker has been out of form for most of the season while the former Atalanta striker is taking his time to settle at Old Trafford, even though he has scored in the last four league games in a row.

David, on the other hand, is still rather young and should get better in the upcoming seasons. In the proper hands, he might become a vital member of United’s squad.

Other names being linked with United for the summer transfer window are Brentford striker Ivan Toney and OGC Nice midfielder Khephren Thuram.
