Manchester United may let go of midfielder Christian Eriksen because it could be hard to get rid of Antony.

Antony cost Manchester United a total of £85 million, joining from Dutch club Ajax. The Brazilian has only made 69 appearances thus far, contributing just four assists and nine goals to the club.

During his tenure at Old Trafford, he has received more yellow cards than goal contributions. The signing by manager Erik ten Hag has flopped massively and it is difficult to see the Brazilian turnaround his career at Man United.

His high cost and subpar performances will deter many teams from considering signing him. Furthermore, analyst Dean Jones thinks Man United would find it easier to try to offload Christian Eriksen.

Here is what Jones said to GIVEMESPORT: “Christian Eriksen is much easier to get rid of than Antony is and he’s also low maintenance compared to Antony.

Eriksen is a player that can play various roles in various types of teams, Antony’s not. For that reason, United are probably going to be forced to persist with Antony.”

He continued by saying that until the Saudi billionaires step up and attempt to recruit the Brazilian for the Saudi Pro League, Manchester United would not be able to break even on the sale of Antony.

But even the Saudi Pro League only pursues the biggest names, and Antony, who is 23 years old, is hardly one. The management at Old Trafford is now in a desperate position.

However, they ought to act while Eriksen is still a sellable asset.
