Manchester United fans have been voicing their support for Marcus Rashford in recent days after being shown the door on the orders of Ruben Amorim.
The 27-year-old was born and bred in the city of Manchester and joined the Red Devils’ academy as a mere child. He climbed his way up the club’s ranks to become a member of the first team in 2016 despite his tender age. Hence, the striker swiftly won the adoration of the Old Trafford faithful while gradually cementing himself as the club’s top star.
Nevertheless, Rashford didn’t exactly bask himself in glory in his recent campaigns, encountering trouble both on and off the pitch. But while Erik ten Hag was willing to tolerate the situation, Amorim swiftly made an example out of the England international, keeping him on the sidelines for 12 matches in a row which eventually led to his departure last week.

The attacker joined Aston Villa on loan with an option to buy at the end of the season, and he made his debut for the Villains on Sunday, coming off the bench in the FA Cup victory over Tottenham. Rashford produced a decent cameo and seemed to be in good shape, so many felt that the player’s outing contradicted Amorim’s regarding a lack of effort in training.
After the contest, Rashford posted a picture of himself in an Aston Villa tracksuit while raising the thumps up. Whilst Jadon Sancho steered the pot with his ‘Freedom’ comment, the Man United faithful poured their support for their recently departed star.
“We still love you Marcus,” reads one of the comments on the Instagram post. “I support man utd and now Aston villa coz of u,” another added.
“Not gonna lie it’s sad to see him not in a Utd shirt! Nevertheless, good luck Marcus,” reads a third comment. “Hey Marcus we love you,” a fourth United supporter commented.
But while he still has the love of a large section of the fanbase, Rashford is highly unlikely to play another match for the Red Devils as long as Amorim is at the helm.
