Manchester United will switch their attention to signing Manuel Ugarte having finalised a deal to sign Leny Yoro from Lille.

After confirming the signing of Joshua Zirkzee from Bologna at the start of the week, United have moved quickly to wrap up a deal for 18-year-old Yoro who has reportedly now signed a five-year deal at Old Trafford.

United have spent big to bring of the most promising young defenders in European football with the deal thought to be worth an initial £52million.

With their new football structure off the field now well in place, United will continue to make improvements to the squad with Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Ugarte their next target.

Sky Sports Germany report United will now step up their pursuit of the Uruguay international, who turned down a move to Chelsea last summer.

Ugarte is high on United’s list of targets and is eager to make the move to Manchester this summer.

Talks are ongoing with United believed to have made initial enquiries in June.

Ugarte joined PSG from Sporting Libson for £51m last summer with recent reports suggesting the Ligue 1 champions could consider cashing in for a fee of £38m. United are also interested in a loan deal.

PSG meanwhile are thought to be closing in on a move for Benfica star Joao Neves. The 19-year-old is also admired by United but is thought to prefer a move to the French capital with a €70m deal close to being agreed.

Neves’ arrival at the Parc de Princes would push Ugarte further down the pecking order in Luis Enrique’s side.

In addition to a new midfielder, United hope to sign another centre-half to join Yoro having held talks with Bayern Munich over Matthijs de Ligt with Everton’s Jarrad Branthwaite also still of interest.

But United may have to move players on first before they can continue spending this summer. Maso Greenwood’s move to Marseille is set to see them bank £25m with Fulham among the clubs interested in signing Scott McTominay. West Ham United meanwhile are keen on Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

Casemiro meanwhile has interest from Saudi Arabia although no formal offers have materialised yet.
