Manchester United are already plotting a move for Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze next summer.
With a new football structure now firmly in place at Old Trafford, United brought in five new players during the summer months with 13 players leaving as part of the squad revamp.
Plans are already being drawn up for next year with 26-year-old Eze among the options being monitored, the Manchester Evening News report.
The Londoner scored 11 Premier League goals last season while registering four assists with Manchester City and Tottenham both credited with interest during the summer transfer window.
With Michael Olise departing to join Bayern Munich in a £50million deal, Eze remained in southeast London with Palace chairman Steve Parish ‘astounded’ there wasn’t more interest in Eze.
That could change next year with United interested. The England international reportedly has a £68million release clause which will reactivate next year.
United have four wingers on their books after offloading Jadon Sancho with Marcus Rashford, Alejandro Garnacho, Amad Diallo and Antony vying for first-team roles.
Rashford’s form has been a concern for over a year however with Antony still to struggling to justify his £85m price tag, managing just one minute of game time so far this season.
United are also expected to maintain their interest in Everton star Jarrad Branthwaite.
United saw two bids for Branthwaite rejected by Everton this summer – the first £35m plus £10m in add-ons followed by a second of £45m plus £5m in add-ons.
Both offers were immediately rejected with Everton valuing their prized asset in the excess of £70m – believing his excellent form last season and the fees paid for Harry Maguire, Wesley Fofana and Josko Gvardiol in recent years make that a fair price.
United went onto sign Leny Yoro and Matthijs de Ligt as part of their defensive revamp but could return with another offer next summer.
United’s provisional plans for next summer are to sign a defender, another midfielder and a winger.
