Manchester United have reportedly received a summer transfer window boost after West Ham walked away from a deal to sign Noussair Mazraoui.

It is believed that West Ham reached an agreement with both the player and his club Bayern Munich – but they’ve been unable to strike a deal with his agent.

That’s according to fresh reports in Germany, which claim the Hammers have fully walked away from negotiations, with the Red Devils looking to swoop in instead.

Erik ten Hag’s side are very much pushing to sign Mazraoui – and have entered advanced discussions over a deal – having already held initial talks with Bayern.

United boss Ten Hag is eager for the club to sign Mazraoui because he thinks the 26-year-old right-back can help revive Antony’s career at Old Trafford.

Mazraoui is another one of Ten Hag’s former Ajax players, who won three Eredisivise titles under the Dutchman before he headed to Bayern in 2022.

Under contract at Bayern until 2026, Mazraoui has made 55 appearances for the Bundesliga giants to date, and it looks like he could now be on the move.

Bayern are open to offloading Mazraoui and are hoping to collect a fee of between €25m (£21m) and €20m (£16.8m).

United, though, consider €15m (£12.6m) to €20m (£16.8m) to be a more realistic price.

Mazraoui helped Bayern clinch the Bundesliga title in 2023 as well as the DFL-Supercup in 2022.

He has earned 28 international caps for Morocco, playing a role in their charge to the World Cup semi-finals two years ago in Qatar.

While he was at Ajax, Mazraoui forged an impressive partnership with United star Antony and the duo operated down the right during their days playing together.

Mazraoui was crowned Ajax Talent of the Year for 2018-19 and clinched their Goal of the Season award for 2021-22.
