Manchester United’s Hannibal Mejbri has put pen to paper on a six-month loan deal with Sevilla.

The midfielder opted to join the La Liga outfit over gaining more Premier League experience with Everton after they attempted to hijack his move to Sevilla in the 11th hour.

However, the Spanish side tabled a more favourable proposal to the player and he has since completed his medical, as well as been given the No.46 shirt for the remainder of the campaign, following which Sevilla will have the option of signing him permanently for a fee of €20 million (£17.2m).

Buy-back clause included in Hannibal’s terms

As per Fabrizio Romano, Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s INEOS intervened in negotiations to specifically demand that there be a buy-back clause included for United, giving them some form of control over the 20-year-old’s future.

Now, reporter Fabrice Hawkins claims that if the Reds ever wanted to activate the clause, they’d need to pay €35m (£30m) to bring their Carrington graduate back to Old Trafford.
