Manchester City destroys Real Madrid transfer window

At the start of the season, Real Madrid clearly showed difficulties and management clearly did not expect that. Despite the arrival with great fanfare of Kylian Mbappé, Carlo Ancelotti’s training displays a more than disappointing level. Already left behind by Barça in La Liga (6 points difference), Casa Blanca is in 18th place in the Champions League standings with two defeats in four matches. To make matters worse, the club had to deal with serious injuries to several players.

With a defensive sector already targeted as failing this summer, hence the Leny Yoro track (who finally signed for Manchester United), Real Madrid must deal with the packages of Dani Carvajal and now Eder Militão until the end of the season . This leaves almost only Rudiger as a professional defender. On the right, it’s the desert since Lucas Vazquez is out for a few more weeks and Carlo Ancelotti will therefore use Federico Valverde in this position. In recent weeks, the Spanish press announced that the priority for this position was Trent Alexander-Arnold.

The arrival of Manchester City reduces Real’s chances

The England international from Liverpool has still not extended his contract which ends at the end of the season. But he’s not the only player targeted. Within the Madrid club, Pedro Porro’s profile is considered ideal. The 25-year-old Spanish international, the Tottenham player ticks all the boxes. But the first problem is financial according to A.S.. Florentino Pérez does not really have good relations with Spurs president Daniel Levy who will therefore ask for a fortune. The two men had exchanged for the transfers of Gareth Bale and Luka Modric. And the CEO of Tottenham had been very (too much according to Real Madrid) tough in business.

Another problem is competition in this area. If Real Madrid is ready to pay a good sum, they fear that the arrival of Manchester City will turn everything upside down. Pep Guardiola’s English club has made it its priority on the right to replace an aging and departing Kyle Walker. In addition to having much superior financial weapons, City also has the Hugo Viana asset. The club’s new sporting director recruited him from Sporting a few seasons ago. And that could matter when making the final choice. Real Madrid therefore knows that this issue will be very thorny and is worried about weakening due to more financially solid competition. But there is still the Alexander-Arnold solution which is keeping Liverpool hanging…
