This Thursday, the Mirror revealed some rather surprising information regarding Erling Haaland. Indeed, the British tabloid revealed that the Norwegian would be a “burden” in the Manchester City locker room. At the same time, Sky Sports has indicated that he would like to join Real Madrid, a club which has been announced as his main suitor for years already.

But at the end of the afternoon, Marca denied these reports and clarified that the attacker had never asked to join Casa Blanca. The Madrid publication even added that the former Borussia Dortmund player wants to stay with the Skyblues, with whom he is in talks to extend his lease which initially ends in June 2027. Erling Haaland, who dreams of one day playing for Real Madrid therefore has no intention of packing up for the moment. He’s not yet ready to take the plunge.

Haaland, it’s a gift!

The article from Marca also contains another piece of important information: Erling Haaland’s release clause would in reality only be 70 million euros. And therefore far from the amounts approaching 200 million euros as we could have thought until now. The Norwegian striker is therefore available for the price for which Manchester City bought him, provided that he wants to leave of course.

But be careful, this clause is not available to everyone, as we already knew. It does not concern Premier League clubs, and Liverpool, Chelsea or Manchester United will not be able to snatch Haaland from their rival for such a paltry sum. On the other hand, and until proven otherwise, Real Madrid, FC Barcelona or PSG could lift it if they wish in the future. To be continued…
