Man City manager Pep Guardiola believes he should never have let Julian Alvarez leave for Atletico.
Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola admits he may have been wrong to approve the sale of Julian Alvarez to Atletico Madrid.
With the summer market now closed, Guardiola has indicated that his team is short of options in attack. Alvarez was sold to Atletico Madrid for a fee of €85 million. A nice fee, but for the Catalan coach it might have been better to keep the world champion in his squad.
Guardiola couldn’t hold back Alvarez
“I am satisfied with the squad, he began by confiding. We didn’t expect Julian to leave, although he had conversations a long time ago with other clubs and his agent, so it could happen and it finally happened.”

“Maybe it’s a mistake (to let Alvarez go), I don’t know, but I don’t like to leave players without playing for a long time, justified the Sky Blues manager. When everyone is involved and has the opportunity to play, the team’s performance is always better.”
