In difficulty this season in the Premier League and defeated by PSG in the Champions League on Wednesday, Manchester City is only in 5th place after 22 days of the championship. A complicated situation for the title holder who experienced problems on all lines. In a failing offensive sector where only Erling Haaland manages to score, the Sky Blues wanted to bring a different profile in order to be more decisive.

This is why the English club quickly decided to bet on Omar Marmoush (25 years old). The Egyptian international striker had a great start to the season with Eintracht Frankfurt where he scored 20 goals and provided 14 assists in just 26 matches. A significant return which therefore pushed Manchester City to break the bank.

Manchester City broke the bank

Indeed, the English club did not hesitate to pay 70 million euros + 10 million euros in bonuses in order to attract the Egyptian, third winter recruit after Vitor Reis and Abdukodir Khusanov. Versatile, the Cairo native has the ability to play in the center, in support of the attacker, but also on both wings. A Swiss army knife profile that will do good for Pep Guardiola's training. Proud to announce the news, the English club issued a press release.

“Manchester City are delighted to announce the signing of Omar Marmoush from Eintracht Frankfurt. The 25-year-old Egyptian has signed a four-and-a-half year contract with the Etihad Stadium, meaning he will stay at the club until the summer of 2029. (…) Fluent in English, Marmoush said that he was extremely excited to join Pep Guardiola's reigning Premier League champions”we can read there. The start of a new era!
