The news has been made official for a while now. Rodri suffers from a torn cruciate knee ligament and will not play again for several months. And those who still hoped to see him return at the very end of the season saw their hopes disappear. Pep Guardiola has, in fact, confirmed that the Spanish midfielder will not play again this season.

“Next season he will be there. This season is over. This is what is happening at this level. We are here to support him. He is recovering well, step by step, and we are moving forward. What he brings to us, we don’t have a similar player, but all the players together can replace what Rodri brought to us. We have to find a way to play several months without an important player for us, everyone knows that”he confided at a press conference.
