There is uncertainty around Barcelona about the season ahead. The club are embroiled in financial turmoil which could impact their transfer activity in the coming summer.

With the prospects of a trophy-less campaign, looming large, the club are in desperate need of reinforcements at the end of the season.

Given the economic complexity, though, Barcelona are unsure, whether or not they can sign top targets such as Joshua Kimmich or Bernardo Silva.

Silva pushing for Barça move

However, as per Gerard Romero, Barcelona have received a boost in their pursuit of Bernardo Silva.

It appears the Portuguese international’s representatives are pushing for a move to Camp Nou. The player has long been interested in a move to Barcelona. He was even close to a move Camp Nou last summer, but the move did not materialise.

But this coming summer, Bernardo may finally have another opportunity to leave Etihad and explore a new challenge elsewhere

Silva, in fact, is ‘crazy’ to come to Barcelona, reports SPORT. The former AS Monaco starlet believes his time at Etihad is over and has an affordable release clause worth €58 million.

The Portuguese is even willing to settle for a pay cut, which could go a long way in helping Barcelona secure his services.

Pep Guardiola & co. have been long aware of Silva’s situation and the player is now of the belief that his time at Manchester City is coming to an end, with his heart set on a move to Barcelona.

Can Barcelona sign Silva?

Barcelona’s chances of making a big-money transfer appear to be bleak right now unless the club return to the 1:1 rule.

The Catalans, though, are working closely with La Liga to rebalance their books and it appears the club are quite optimistic they can return to the 1:1 rule this summer.

In such a case, Barcelona can easily make a move for Bernardo Silva this summer, especially if they are able to sanction the sale of unwanted stars such as Sergino Dest, Ansu Fati and Oriol Romeu, among others.

Silva’s willingness to join Barça and settle for a pay cut will only aid the club’s chances of signing the playmaker this coming summer.
