The Cityzens have been one of the busiest clubs in Europe so far this month, as they look to rectify their disappointing first half of the season. Signings Abdukodir Khusanov and Vitor Reis have already been announced, while striker Omar Marmoush, worth €80 million, is expected to be revealed on Thursday.

One move that has flown under the radar is Man City's imminent signing of promising Real Valladolid defender Juma Bah. According to Fabrizio Romano, an agreement has already been reached and only the final details remain to be resolved.

Bah will not immediately join Man City but will instead spend the next six months on loan at RC Lens, the club from which the Premier League giants signed Khusanov. However, he appears to have burned some bridges with his planned departure from Valladolid.

Bah “breaks his contract”

The club released an official statement on Wednesday, accusing the 18-year-old of ” unilaterally broke his contract” by not showing up for training. The La Liga side have also threatened legal action and appear to accuse Manchester City and their agent of encouraging their actions.

“Abdulai Juma Bah and his agent informed Real Valladolid yesterday afternoon of their intention to unilaterally terminate the contract between the two parties. Previously, yesterday afternoon, Manchester City sent a statement asking Real Valladolid to open negotiations for the player with a view to a possible permanent transfer.we can read in an official press release from Valladolid.

“Today, the Sierra Leonean decided not to report to his workplace for morning training. For all these reasons, the Club holds the player responsible for non-compliance with his contractual commitments and has asked its legal department to take disciplinary action in this regard.

“The Club considers that Manchester City, a member of the City Football Group, is behind the player's decision and appears to have advised the player to take this route, which puts Real Valladolid in a helpless position, having recently rejected financial offers of a higher amount, especially since the player… had refused in recent days to sign a player's license with our top category team Blanquivioleta, as this would result in an automatic increase in his termination clause.

“The Club yesterday warned the three parties of this situation through various requests, warning them of the possible consequences of their actions.

“The Royal Spanish Football Federation has just confirmed that the player has deposited the amount for the unilateral termination of the contract. In this regard, Real Valladolid informs that it reserves the right to resort to the appropriate legal and sporting jurisdictions to exercise its rights and defend its interests.”
