Manchester United have agreed a deal to sign Guidars FC defensive midfielder Sekou Kone.

The news comes from transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, who claims United have secured the services of the talented 18-year-old.

Kone may not go directly into the first team, but he is a player the club have high expectations for in the future. He will join the youth ranks with a long-term deal in mind, similar to how United signed Chido Obi-Martin following the youngster’s exit from Arsenal.

RB Salzburg, Crystal Palace and Wolves were all linked with moves for Kone after he caught the eye at the last U17 World Cup with Mali.

Mali were knocked out by France in the semi-finals, but Kone earned plenty of plaudits for his performances as he anchored their midfield. They also beat Argentina in the third-place play-off.

It bodes well for United that we are securing the services of so many talented young players. That will only help the academy to push more players into the first team.

Kone joins a list of exciting prospects for the first team at United. The sky is the limit for these kids.
