Manchester United are among several clubs interested in free agent Adrien Rabiot, but it sounds like the France international is pricing himself out of a move with his excessive salary demands.
The 29-year-old became a free agent during the summer having seen his contract at Juventus expire. Rabiot was offered fresh terms to stay in Turin, but an agreement was never reached and he left the club after five years.
This meant Rabiot was one of the biggest names available on a Bosman this summer yet he is still without a club.
Jeremy Cross from The Daily Star claims United will hold talks with Rabiot as Erik ten Hag looks to strengthen his midfield options ahead of a long and demanding season.
However, fresh reports suggest talks have already been held and they didn’t go to plan.
Football Insider states Rabiot’s salary demands are too high for such a deal to materialise.
Italian outlet Calciomercato adds that Rabiot is insisting on a salary of €10m per season plus a €15m signing-on bonus, not to mention the commission for his agent and mother Veronique.
It remains to be seen where Rabiot will end up next. The longer he waits the harder it will be to get back to his best.
Rabiot missed out on a place in the latest France squad despite featuring regularly at Euro 2024.
