Erik ten Hag celebrated Manchester United’s FA Cup triumph over the week and the conversation has already switched to his future.

Various media outlets suggested a week ago that Ten Hag’s position was in doubt regardless of the result at Wembley.

The Reds went above and beyond on the pitch to get a better outcome than what they managed in last year’s final against City.

It remains to be seen if United will stick or twist.

According to a new update from the Manchester Evening News, United are considering retaining Ten Hag as their manager for next season. The 52-year-old’s current deal runs until next year – but United can trigger the option of an additional year.

MEN reporter Samuel Luckhurst claims United officials have notified representatives of potential replacements that they have not discounted the possibility of keeping the Dutchman after winning two trophies in as many years as manager.

Several managerial candidates such as Mauricio Pochettino and Kieran McKenna are being assessed should United opt to sack Ten Hag, with fans expressing a desire to keep him in charge via the latest Stretty News poll.

United are conducting a season review this week and no decision will be made for definite on Ten Hag until that review is complete.

Meanwhile, Chelsea are closing in on their search for a new manager after opening talks with Leicester City boss Enzo Maresca.
