Manchester United are reportedly interested in Bayern Munich attacker Mathys Tel, who is now “seriously considering” leaving the German club this summer.
One of Europe’s most promising young players, the eighteen-year-old is just the sort of player Sir Jim Ratcliffe hopes to bring to Old Trafford.
Tel definitely falls into the goal of Man Utd’s new minority ownership, who wants to make Old Trafford the best place for developing promising talents.
Bayern paid €28.5 million (£24.4 million) plus add-ons in 2022 to get the attacker from Rennes. He has now made 56 appearances for the German giants, contributing four assists and 12 goals.
Tel is a player who can operate as a center-forward or winger on either side, but the signing of Harry Kane has resulted in a reduction in his playing time at Bayern this season.
At first, Tel stated that his goal was to “become a legend” at Bayern. But given the links to Manchester United, it appears that his opinion on a summer transfer has suddenly shifted.
SportBILD claims that because of his lack of playing time, Tel is now “seriously considering” quitting Bayern since “something has changed.”
SportBild was recently informed by Tel’s agent, Gadiri Camara, that Tel could think about leaving Bayern.
“Sometimes you just have to have the feeling that you are on the same path.
“We’ll see very soon, I’m confident. But if not, we have to consider all options because Mathys knows that he’s valuable and will be a top player,” he said.
Apart from United, Chelsea and Tottenham are also keeping tabs on the Bayer star.
