Manchester United could use Mason Greenwood as part of a deal to sign Juventus defender Gleison Bremer, according to reports.

Greenwood is currently on loan at La Liga side Getafe but it doesn’t look like he has a future at Old Trafford, unless the club changes its stance on welcoming him back. That wouldn’t be a popular decision and there is reason to doubt whether Getafe could afford to sign him on a permanent deal.

That said, I believe Greenwood is happy at Getafe. He’s been able to get back to playing football in Spain, whereas a return to the UK would warrant a backlash.

Greenwood has made 29 appearances across all competitions for Getafe this season, scoring eight goals and providing five assists.

Serie A next for Greenwood?

There is uncertainty surrounding Greenwood’s future and United are not likely to make a definite decision until the end of the season.

The 22-year-old’s contract at United expires in 2025.

According to Italian outlet Gazzetta dello Sport, United could use Greenwood as a makeweight in a deal to get Bremer to Old Trafford.

Bremer has been linked with a move to United in recent months and I think everyone expects to see the club sign at least one centre-back in the summer.

It makes sense to do a swap deal if Juventus – or another club – has a player we are interested in signing.

Former Juventus manager Fabio Capello has advised Greenwood to join Juventus in the summer.

Let us know in the comments section where you think Greenwood will be playing his football next season.
