It has been the same story all season with injuries. We just can’t get a break and now Scott McTominay has become the latest Manchester United player to face a sustained period on the touchline with an injury.

The Reds will have a depleted defence for the end-of-season run-in, but now midfielders are being added to the mix.

According to the Daily Mail, McTominay will be ruled out for up to two-three weeks after hyperextending his knee against Chelsea on Thursday night. The Scotland international was missing on the teamsheet to face Liverpool on Sunday as a result.

McTominay is set to miss United’s trip to the south coast this weekend when they take on Bournemouth and he is also a doubt for the FA Cup semi-final against Coventry City at Wembley.

It doesn’t bode well when it looks like Casemiro is finished in midfield. The Brazilian won’t be at the club next season, but McTominay’s future could also be up in the air this summer.

We will be back to relying on cameos from Sofyan Amrabat and there’s a good reason why nobody wants him back at the club next season.
