Manchester United take on Man City in the Community Shield on Saturday and there are doubts over two centre-backs ahead of the match.
Defensive duo Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof could miss the game after being labelled ‘doubts’ by club media, as per ManUtd.com.
Erik ten Hag will speak to the media at his pre-match press conference this evening and he is expected to give an update on the fitness of his squad.
Maguire, 31, and Lindelof, 30, joined United’s pre-season tour in the United States but saw limited action.
A calf injury kept Maguire out of the European Championship, while Lindelof has a minor knock.
It’s the first game of the new season and three of United’s five centre-backs are set to be out injured. We are starting the new season with less options than we had last term.
Talks are ongoing to sign more players before deadline day. United are considering a double swoop for Bayern Munich defenders Matthijs de Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui.
