Jadon Sancho is scheduled to report for pre-season training on Monday.

The 24-year-old has not trained with Manchester United’s first team since he was banished from the squad following a public spat with manager Erik ten Hag in September of last year.

A decision was made in January to send Sancho on loan to his former club, Borussia Dortmund, but that deal expired at the end of the season.

While United expected Sancho to report back to Carrington on Monday, the Manchester Evening News claims it remains unclear if he will participate in the senior squad’s sessions next week.

Sancho is reportedly available for transfer which means United are prepared to take a hit on the £72.9m they paid for him in 2021.

The England international refused to apologise for calling Ten Hag a liar on social media. Unless Sancho changes his tune, the manager shouldn’t let him near the first team.

United fly to the United States for their pre-season tour on July 24 but our first friendly fixture of the summer is against Rosenborg in Trondheim on July 15.

In an ideal world, Sancho’s future will be solved by then.

Sancho last played for United in a 3-2 win over Nottingham Forest back in August 2023. He was left out of the squad for the away trip to Arsenal for not meeting the required standards in training.
