Manchester United are believed to be one of the clubs to have ‘held talks’ with the agent of striker Alvaro Morata during the summer transfer window.

Morata, 31, is currently in Germany competing at the European Championship. He is captain of an impressive Spain side that could go all the way this summer.

Reports from Turkish outlet Sebah, as per SportWitness, suggest United have shown an interest in the Spain international who is currently playing for Atletico Madrid but has a € 12 million release clause in his contract.

Morata’s current deal at Atleti expires in 2026.

That gives United a chance to get a decent forward through the door on the cheap, but I do not doubt that Morata would demand a big salary. It would still be considerably less than what we were paying Anthony Martial every week.

United have also been linked with a move for Bologna and Netherlands striker Joshua Zirkzee.

One way or another, it looks like Rasmus Hojlund will have some competition for that centre-forward spot next season.
