Bukayo Saka cannot be considered world class and in the same category as Phil Foden - despite boasting better numbers than the Manchester City star.
That is according to Rio Ferdinand, who has stated that the Citizens attacking midfielder has consistently performed at a higher level.
Saka and Foden are set to star for England at Euro 2024 in Germany this summerFoden chipped in with a goal and assist on Tuesday night in City's 3-1 win away at Copenhagen in the Champions League last-16 first leg.
It brought his tally to 25 goal contributions in all competitions this season - the same amount as Arsenal winger Saka.
Giving his say on the England internationals on TNT Sports, Ferdinand was asked by host Laura Woods whether he feels Foden is world class.
To which he said: "I think you’ve got to be looking at him like that. For what he does for the team, he’s important to the team.
"With assists, with goals, with the rhythm of the game, especially this season.
"I think he’s got to be in the conversation or nearing that at least.”
Gunners fan Woods was then quick to comment on a remark made by Ferdinand on his VIBE podcast, where he insisted Saka cannot be held in the same esteem.
That is despite Saka boasting more Premier League goals and the same amount of assists as Foden this season, as well as producing better numbers last campaign.

"You’ve got to understand and respect and appreciate, Phil Foden has done this, where the medals are handed out, he’s performed.
Harry Kane jokes he doesn’t want to ’embarrass’ himself by showing off his German after Laura Woods question at Manchester United
"He’s done that against the best teams. Consistently.
“Saka needs the opportunity to perform at that platform, that level, consistently and then we’ll see where he’s at. You can consider him then.”
For the second season running, both Saka and Foden are in a title race against each other, with Arsenal and City level on points in the top-flight.
But despite their rivalry on the pitch, the pair are set for key roles at Euro 2024 in Germany with the Three Lions this summer.
