Manchester United have been linked with Southampton’s breakout star Tyler Dibling, quickly making the 18-year-old one to watch throughout the season, despite the fact the Saints have struggled.

Dibling got on the scoresheet in Southampton’s 1-1 draw with Ipswich Town on Saturday afternoon, earning praise for his clean dribbling and running into space.

A report from Give Me Sport claims Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s strategy over the next few transfer windows will be to invest in Under-21 talent and lower the age of the first team squad.

Furthermore, it is noted that Dan Ashworth has shown previous interest in Dibling while he was at Newcastle. This means we can act more shrewd in the market as a result.

Separately, talkSPORT suggests that United are keeping track of the progress of Sunderland teenager Chris Rigg. The 17-year-old scored a stunning solo goal in Saturday’s Championship win over Middlesbrough.

The report in question hints that United could make a swoop for Rigg as early as January, which means that planning for future transfer windows is already underway.

Despite Rigg’s age, the talented youngster has played a total of 32 first team matches for Sunderland, scoring four goals. He’s a midfielder who likes to get forward.

I always find it a positive when United are being linked with the best emerging players from multiple leagues. We should be attracting the best and keeping our eye on the ball for fresh talent every year. That’s how we landed Alejandro Garnacho.
