This summer promises to be very hectic on the coaching side. This has already started with the arrivals of Hansi Flick at FC Barcelona, Vincent Kompany at Bayern Munich and Enzo Maresca at Chelsea. And that’s just the beginning. On the England side, another English giant is looking for a new coach for next season: Manchester United. The Red Devils no longer seem to be banking on Erik ten Hag who failed to convince his management. However, a few weeks ago, the Dutch technician explained that he was already starting to work on next season.

And if Manchester United has, for the moment, not confirmed that it is officially looking for a coach (Erik ten Hag is still under contract), the club is working hard behind the scenes to find a replacement. For several weeks, the name of Thomas Tuchel has been coming back to England. Not retained by Bayern Munich after a disappointing adventure, the German technician still has a good rating on the Premier League market and he has not hidden his desire to return to this championship.

Thomas Tuchel presented his project

According to information from BILD, this could precisely be the case for Manchester United. A secret meeting took place in Monaco between the former PSG coach and Jim Ratcliffe, the new shareholder of Manchester United. In this meeting, Tuchel would have detailed his project if he were to take over the club this summer. He particularly spoke of his ability to correct the team’s sporting problems and to exploit the qualities of his players.

According to the German daily, Thomas Tuchel explained that he was capable of relaunching Mason Mount and Jadon Sancho, two big investments from the Mancunian club on the transfer market. During this meeting, the 50-year-old coach also explained that he was capable of bringing big talents out of nowhere by taking the example of Antonio Rudiger, whom he really launched at Chelsea. Enough to convince Ratcliffe who has never hidden his admiration for Tuchel’s work at Chelsea? That remains to be seen. For the moment, Erik ten Hag is still under contract until 2025.
