Botan Ameen was on target to score a first-half brace for the Robins at the County Ground to dump United out of the competition.
United pushed hard to find a way back into the match, but Swindon defended like their lives depended on it to book their place in the next stage of the history competition.

As a result, Swindon will face Gillingham or Sunderland in the fifth-round next Tuesday.
