Boca Juniors defender Aaron Anselmino is on Manchester United’s radar.
The Reds are being linked with several centre-backs because there will be a shake-up in that department this summer, with a few of our current defenders likely to leave for pastures new.
In turn, that means United are going to be busy identifying targets for the summer.
Ineos Sports group will want value for their money which hasn’t always been an easy task for the club. It’s now time to strengthen our reputation in the transfer market by doing smart business and finding gems across the continent or beyond.
According to TyC Sports journalist Julio Pavoni – via Boca Juniors, La12Tuittera – Manchester United are following Boca Juniors defender Aaron Anselmino.

It has been suggested that United have already visited La Bombonera to keep a close eye on the centre-back, who looks destined for a move to Europe.
Moreover, United would intent to sign Ansaelmino and then loan him to another club so that he can gain more first team experience before completing his big move.
The defender has also been linked to Italian giants AC Milan.
However, Anselmino is under contract at Boca until 2028 and his release clause is set at a modest £17.2 million.
It may help that United have Lisandro Martinez, who is the player Anselmino would be likely to partner if he signs for the club this summer.
United need to identify talent quicker than what they have been doing in recent years, especially when it comes to our recruitment in the transfer market. If United were to wait or baulk on Anselmino they would risk having to pay more once he’s had a season or two in Europe.
Look at Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo at Chelsea and how much they cost the Blues.
Anselmino responds to transfer speculation
The young defender has now been asked directly about a potential move, speaking after a 3-0 win in which former United striker Edinson Cavani scored twice.
Speaking to Argentine publication Ole, Anselmino says his focus is on achieving success with Boca and he is not looking beyond that right now.
“My head is here in Boca,” said Anselmino, as quoted by United In Focus. “I want to win a title here and win titles with this shirt. Nothing came from outside.”
A typical response from a player attracting interest from a bigger club. Anselmino doesn’t want to disrespect Boca, his team-mates or the fans which is why he is best keeping his cards close to his chest… and focusing on his performances for Boca.
Perhaps United will make a move to sign Anselmino and offer him back to Boca on loan. That could keep all parties happy.
