Manchester United’s interest in Stade Rennes prodigy Désiré Doué is “strong”, according to Fabrizio Romano, but the Red Devils will face significant competition for his signature.
Doué, 18, is on Man Utd’s transfer list ahead of the summer transfer window, but he is also being tracked by many other top clubs. According to the Daily Mail, the young virtuoso is wanted by Man Utd, Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur, Paris Saint-Germain, Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund and Bayer Leverkusen.
Rennes would demand 40 million euros for the young Frenchman. Doué scored four goals and provided six assists in 43 appearances last season and Man Utd have named him as one of their main targets for the next window. The Red Devils are also interested in Michael Olise, Amadou Onana and Jarrad Branthwaite, in order to begin a new era under the reign of INEOS.
A new era for United
Erik ten Hag could also be fired despite winning the FA Cup final, with Roberto De Zerbi, Thomas Tuchel and Mauricio Pochettino among the Dutchman’s possible replacements. Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has provided an update on Doue’s future for CaughtOffside. “Coming back to United, we saw that they were linked, like many other clubs, to the wonder of Rennes, Desiré Doué, who is doing fantastic performances in Ligue 1”he writes.
“Honestly, I could name six or seven clubs interested in him – the interest is strong, but it’s very early. We must therefore be patient on this matter. It is certain that several countries are interested in him, because he is considered a great talent. »
