Manchester United are being linked with Barcelona defender Mikayil Faye ahead of a potential summer transfer.
According to the Daily Mail, United sent scouts to watch the 19-year-old make his international debut against Gabon on Friday night, after following his progress with Barcelona’s B side for the past three months.
Faye, who is versatile enough to play at left-back and centre-back, scored a spectacular goal on his Senegal debut right in front of the United scouts.
The ball left Faye’s foot from 30 yards and hit the top corner as Senegal won 3-0.

Many clubs were chasing the Senegalese prodigy last year before he left Croatian side NK Kustosija for the Spanish side. The report also states that Barcelona rejected offers of £13 million from Nice and Lens in January.
Other clubs interested in Faye include Bayer Leverkusen and Inter Milan.
The report adds: “Faye could be prised away for around £25m, is younger, and provides more versatility. He has similiariies in style to United’s Lisandro Martinez but is bigger and offers more threat going forward.”
Manchester United need to sign a left-back
The injuries to Luke Shaw this season haven’t helped us and cannot afford to be missing our primary left-back for chunks of the season.
Hence why United are now being linked with several left-backs.
Now Faye has come under our radar following a scouting mission, we know that United are actively looking for options in the market. That should be seen as a positive.
It doesn’t help Shaw’s case that Tyrell Malacia hasn’t been seen all season due to injuries.
